Update from Lizzy Maust - Silent Retreat

Updated: Jan 3, 2022

Sunday, September 19 8:57 PM - This week we focused a lot on personal relationships with God, and then spent the weekend in Sugar Creek, Ohio on a silent retreat. We spent Friday evening until Saturday evening (26 hours total) fasting from food and talking. The weekend was definitely tiring as I spent about 8-9 hours of the past two days just hiking and only slept about 2 hours, but the experience was definitely more positive than anything. I spent a lot of time both alone with God, and then I also spent about 5 hours walking with a friend in total silence. The feeling of walking with someone with no expectation for conversation is an entirely different feeling. I left the camp feeling tired, but also refreshed and with a clearer mind. I miss all of you and can't wait to see you in November.
